Established in the year 1895 by the Society of African Missions (SMA) of the Catholic Church, the Sacred Heart Hospital (SHH), Lantoro Abeokuta, poised to provide an array of qualitative health service that enhances the dignity of the human person. Her services cut across Surgery, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, paediatrics, Accident and Emergency, A range of laboratory services, Endoscopy, Scan, ENT, Ophthalmic, and Dental Services, etc... It is an accredited center for training of medical personnel in the different fields of Medicine and Nursing; it is also accredited for National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) services.
SHH is located in the heart of Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Abeokuta, the Capital of Ogun State, in the South-West region of Nigeria. It has since inception, enjoyed the support and patronage of people from all works of life: royals, politicians, elites and the common man, on account of whom it was primarily established. It is the backbone of Ogun State healthcare delivery, and boasts of about 500 in its workforce. At the moment, it operates at the secondary level of care, though with some tertiary attention.
